Mary Ella Ruff Nursing Scholarship
The Mary Ella Ruff Nursing Scholarship program has been established in honor of Mary Ella Ruff, a model Self Regional nurse. The Mary Ella Ruff Nursing Scholarship awards scholarships annually to individuals planning to enroll in a certified nursing program in the State of South Carolina or to a practicing nurse who wishes to advance his or her professional skills. The number of scholarships given each year and the value of the scholarships will be determined based on available funding at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee. All applications will be accepted through March 29 and the scholarship winners will be announced on May 1. Click here for an application.
Charlotte Blackwell Memorial Nursing Scholarship
The Charlotte Blackwell Memorial Nursing Scholarship program has been established in memory of Charlotte Blackwell, a beloved Self Regional nurse. The Charlotte Blackwell Memorial Nursing Scholarship will award a scholarship(s) annually to individuals planning to enroll in a certified nursing program at either Lander University or Piedmont Technical or to a practicing nurse who wishes to advance his or her professional skills at those schools. The number of scholarships given each year and the value of the scholarships will be determined based on available funding at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee. Frank Spoone Memorial Scholarship
The Frank Spoone Memorial Scholarship was established by friends and colleagues of Mr. Spoone in 2004. Frank was one of Self Regional Healthcare’s most dedicated and unique Respiratory Therapists. This scholarship is intended for second year Respiratory Therapy students who attend Piedmont Technical College and wish to make a career at Self Regional Healthcare. The number and value of scholarships given each year are at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee. Applications are accepted from September 1st – October 15th. May-Magruder Laboratory Scholarship
The May-Magruder Scholarship program has been established in memory of Dr. Hunter W. May and in honor of Dr. C. Herbert Magruder. Scholarships will be awarded to students accepted into an accredited laboratory education program and/or current laboratory professionals seeking to enhance their career with the aid of continuing education. The number of scholarships presented each year and the value of each scholarship will be based on available funding at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee. M. John and Drenda Heydel Respiratory Scholarship
The M. John and Drenda Heydel Respiratory Therapy Scholarship has been established in honor of former Self Regional Healthcare President and CEO, John Heydel and his wife, Drenda Heydel. A scholarship will be awarded annually to persons enrolled at Piedmont Technical College in their second year in the Respiratory Therapy Program. The number of scholarships given each year and the value of the scholarships will be determined based on available funds at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
