Winners of the Mary Ella Ruff and Charlotte Blackwell Nursing Scholarships at Self Regional Healthcare were recognized Monday at a luncheon hosted by the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation. Earning the Charlotte Blackwell Nursing Scholarship, named in memory of the late Charlotte Blackwell, a beloved nurse in Self Regional’s Critical Care Center, are, from left: Emily Gantt of Ware Shoals and Brittany Thomas of Greenwood. Named winners of the Mary Ella Ruff Nursing Scholarship, named in honor of Mary Ella Ruff, a model Self Regional nurse now retired and living in Winnsboro, are: Rashana Keller of Ware Shoals; RaeAnn Todd of Waterloo; Kasey Holley of Ninety Six; and Brittney Dominick of Ninety Six. Administered by the Self Regional Healthcare Foundation, the scholarships are open to individuals planning to enroll in a certified nursing program, students currently enrolled in a nursing program, or to a practicing nurse who wishes to advance his or her professional skills. Applications are accepted on an annual basis and winners are announced each spring.
